Artist's Comments

For those of you who know your mythology you know a dryad is a wood nymph and for everyone else now you know. This could be the equivalent of a Forest Sprite. I really liked doing this, took me about a day, but I think it was worth it. I thought the aura was a nice touch, shows a force of energy.

There's no need to want your art to look like someone else's, It's fine on it's own. Instead of trying ot find a more humanistic figure, try make ing a more suggestive background based off the imagery.

then i have to learn to draw backgrounds. But you can't place a 3-D image within a nonrealistic background, that throws off eveything.

You've got some great stuff here. I think above is right about the background, it doesn't seem to blend with the image, the hair also looks really 2d compared to the human form. What program are you using to generate these? I know Photoshop has features that can digitally generate hair that would look more "in line" with your figure.

The only thing that strikes me really strongly though, is just the colors. She's kind of a day-glow Dryad. You might try tweeking the colors to have a more natural pallet, maybe even the dark greens and grey-browns of your background, that might be one way to help blend them into each other.

Also, if you're in photoshop, if your bodyform is in one layer, you should be able to select her, modify selection to reduce the area by a pixel, maybe 2, and then invert the selection and delete the area, that should help remove the tiny white pixels around her feet. You could also do the same thing again, but then select smooth instead of contract and that would help too.

you could either try matte painting then or by creating tree's and such like in the program that you are using.

Try looking for [link] arbaro to make the trees.
